The original seal from Porsche is provided with a viscoplastic sealant, which drips out in hot weather and offers no real added value. The closed profile provides a better sealing effect, as there is no impact as a weak point.
We also have a seal with an open profile in our range to reduce installation work (disassembly of the gas pressure dampers).
On vehicles with rear window wipers, the gas pressure dampers cannot be easily removed.
