In this offer you will receive a complete set for the repair of the display of your VW Golf 1 / Golf 2 "MFA" multifunction display. The MFA was also used in other models from the time, the display also fits here. However, not for the simple digital clocks, where a different display is required.
After many years of use and frequent temperature fluctuations, the sealing of the LCD elements eventually fails and the display "leaks". Although the overall component is still fully functional, the numbers and symbols can no longer be fully read. Aging of the associated conductive contact rubbers is also a common reason for incomplete readability of the displays. Even if the liquid crystal display (LCD for short) is still fully intact.
As a "do it yourself" solution, even inexperienced hobbyists can repair the display themselves with the components offered here as well as our support and illustrated instructions. the inner housing of the air conditioning control unit on the Audi is usually not only clipped, but the clips are also provided with elastic adhesive/silicone. This must be cut open during disassembly. Apart from this special feature, no complicated assembly work or soldering is required.
Because the ageing of displays is a general problem, we generally advise against buying used "still intact" components. Here too, it is only a matter of time before the display no longer works. Replacing your own display is therefore always the cheaper option in the long term.
